Tax Relief for Eligible Australian Businesses

The ATO has introduced a Fuel Response Payment Plan to support eligible businesses affected by rising fuel costs, helping manage tax debt with greater flexibility during this period. If your business has been impacted, consider the merits and review eligibility below.

If eligible, you may be able to

Set up or restructure an ATO payment plan

Spread tax payments over time to ease cash flow pressure

Potentially reduce or remit interest charges (GIC)

Stay compliant while stabilising your business

You may qualify if you are an ABN holder and

  1. Fuel costs have impacted your businessDirectly (fuel usage) or indirectly (transport, logistics, supplier costs)
  2. You have a tax debt positionNew debt or difficulty maintaining an existing payment plan
  3. Your ability to pay has reduced due to fuel pricesSpecifically linked to fuel-related cost increases, not general slowdown
  4. Your lodgments are (or can be brought) up to dateRequired within 3 months for approval and ongoing eligibility
